Sending you lots of caring support as you navigate this—and grateful for you sharing the journey in real time. There is no “good time” to step back and I find that scarcity mentality has a way of creeping in always, but MAN the universe didn’t do you any favors on that front.

Also…SO happy to see that the joy menu idea stuck with you. Would love to hear what ends up on yours as I’m trying to constantly add to my own! ✨

Yes, I love the concept! I have a few things on the menu currently: do a sound bath, go thrift shopping, take a tennis lesson, do a dance class, and play volleyball. We'll see what calls to me this month!

Beautifully stated and a well-timed reframe reminder for me as well. Our pauses were always powered by intentionality and a reset in order to move towards a more fulfilling version of what's next.

Exactly! There's intention behind the decision, even if I couldn't predict exactly how it would unfold. There will be learnings in the process and that's ok.

I talk with my friends about this all the time! The masculine weight of being a provider and managing a successful career, while also creating and maintaining a beautiful family life often leaves no room for us as individuals to sit with ourselves and do the things that truly inspire us! Guys have a great rhythm of hobbies they do with friends, but I see such a huge lack of women taking those same 6 hours for themselves (golf widow here 😆).

Excited for this, and can’t wait to follow along on your journey!

Oh my gosh, this whole piece resonates so deeply. Especially the discomfort around letting go, doing nothing, and fighting the urge to do instead of be. I'm proud of you for taking this (difficult) step; your future self will be so grateful you did. 🫶 Thank you for sharing and for documenting in real time—looking forward to read more!

It’s always nerve wracking to take a big leap, and moreso during uncertain times. But as uncertain as today might feel, who knows what is to come. So do it now! Some successes are built from periods of failure, but taking steps forward will always keep you learning and edge you closer to what you want.

It’s inspiring to follow your journey. I had my own ‘panic’ after layoffs and strongly felt the urge to jump into the next role. When that didn’t happen I had to confront where I was and what I truly wanted, and it wasn’t comfortable. I started following women like yourself on LinkedIn, whose stories and views on motherhood and career really resonated with me, in order to gain more of my own clarity. Thank you for being part of that! More and more I’m seeing women with young kids stepping out of their comfort zones and building bridges of support for others. Whatever your next endeavor is and however it lands, you are taking steps forward toward your goals. The bigger failure is feeling passionate about a thing and doing nothing.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm proud of myself for taking the leap, even if it feels uncomfortable. Also - there's no going back :)

A window to a “buying” season is opening. And this too shall pass.

Great reminder and reframe, thank you! A good time to "invest" too :)
